Patek Philippe Super Complicated Timepieces Series 5303 Modification (Engraving Series-Apollo and Dionysus)
With the theme of "Apollo and Dionysus in Ancient Greece", the work interprets the different connotations of time, including objective measurement, periodic laws and profound philosophical thinking. Such a profound concept must be interpreted through an art form full of cultural implications. In order to skillfully reproduce the character's shape on the dial, the master manual carving uses a bevel etching process to continuously adjust the angle of the chisel to present a pyramidal visual depth effect on the smooth surface. Achieving this visual illusion is not easy, and irregular changes in surface shape must be taken into account during the chiseling process. The entire manual carving process took more than 290 hours.
